Medray Imaging Systems are delighted to have installed a Carestream DRX Evolution Room into the x-ray department of Belfast City Hospital (BCH).
The Belfast City Hospital Trust is a 900-bed modern university teaching hospital, providing local acute services and key regional specialties; including renal medicine and transplantation and a comprehensive range of cancer services. The provision of high quality treatment and care continues to be its primary objective.
The Carestream DRX digital room has replaced ageing analogue equipment and follows on from last year’s purchase of a Carestream DRX Revolution mobile at the hospital to replace an analogue mobile. This latest installation took place at the end of April and was followed by application training.
(L to R) Amanda Wilson, Jason Roddy (Medray N.I.) Denise Sinclair, Christine Robinson (Radiography Site Lead) Pamela Compston, Siobhan Crowley (Sales Director, Medray), Rebecca Mitchell, Superintendent, Main x-ray, Amy Stewart.
Rebecca Mitchell, (Superintendent, Main x-ray) stated ''following the successful addition of the Carestream DRX mobile to our equipment list in 2013, the staff in the x-ray department of BCH were delighted to take delivery of the new Carestream DRX Evolution to continue the on-going upgrade of equipment within the department. The image preview is available within 6 seconds, enabling high patient throughput and the automatic functionality means far less manual handling for staff. Rebecca added, “now the hospital can offer a fully digital service''.
The new Evolution room is feature rich with motorisation of the tube gantry, auto positioning, auto centring and auto tracking. The wireless cassette-size DRX Detector delivers superb digital x-ray images, increased latitude and high-contrast image detail with EVP Plus software.
