The nominations for the X-Ray Awards closed yesterday on 30th June 2016. The X-Ray awards are organised every year by the Irish Institute of Radiography and Radiation Therapy (IIRRT) in sponsorship with Medray Imaging Systems. These awards are to acknowledge and recognise those Radiography / Radiation Therapy departments and individual staff members who provide exceptionally good services to patients and are highly professional and disciplined while promoting best industry practices.
The nominations have been open since 1st March for the members of the public and the healthcare professionals. The voting system was an online survey available through www.iirrt.ie and www.medray.ie. The users had to fill out a quick survey form while entering their nominated radiography / radiation department and radiographer / radiation therapist with their email ids for conformation of the nomination. The entire process was similar to the previous years’ nominations with a slight change in the survey form.
The X-Ray awards were started as an initiative to promote the radiography and radiation therapy among the general public and rendering recognition for the excellent services which are carried out within the clinical department on a daily basis against a demanding environment. It has been five years, since IIRRT has been organising these X-Ray awards with Medray Imaging as the sole sponsor of the event and the awards.
This year the winners would be announced during the IIRRT annual conference which is due in October 2016. The winners would be awarded a monetary and CPD activity prizes. Further information can be found at http://www.iirrt.ie/medray-awards or http://www.medray.ie/medray-awards-2016.
