Peamount Healthcare Enhances Diagnostic Imaging with New Medray-Installed DRX-Evolution Plus Room
Peamount Healthcare is pleased to announce the completion of its new Medray-installed Carestream DRX-Evolution Plus X-ray suite, a state-of-the-art system designed to deliver faster, safer and more efficient diagnostic imaging for patients across the region.
The room features the latest Carestream DRX-Evolution Plus technology, providing exceptional image quality, reduced radiation dose, and streamlined workflows, enhancing patient care and supporting greater diagnostic accuracy.
The installation process was supported by excellent service from Medray. Their applications specialist, Nadine Chambers, demonstrated outstanding technical expertise and provided clear, comprehensive guidance throughout, ensuring a smooth and successful implementation.
With this advanced system now fully operational, Peamount Healthcare can offer patients quicker imaging, improved comfort, and the reassurance of lower radiation exposure.

Medray installs a Canon Aquilion ONE Prism Edition and a Carestream DRX Evolution Plus X-ray room co-located in Tallaght University Hospital’s redesigned Emergency Radiology Suite.
“Having a CT, X-ray machine & reporting room located in the Emergency department has significantly improved the Radiology service. Patients
have less distance to travel for their scan/x-ray, can have multi modality imaging in one visit and ED clinicians can liaise directly with their Radiology colleagues to discuss results.” said Laura Gannon RSM, Tallaght University Hospital.
“The Canon Aquilion ONE Prism is first in country & has improved patient flow, scan times & efficiency. We have lowered the radiation dose to our patients by utilizing AICE, SilverBeam filtration & one rotation volumetric scanning. The lateral table movement allows easier patient positioning & effortless isocentring.” said Hannah Turner CT Clinical Specialist, Tallaght University Hospital.

Medray successfully install Carestream Evolution room in Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
Peter McDonagh, RSM at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, shared, “It was a pleasure working with Medray, from the initial discussions to the application training. The redesigned room has enhanced both the radiographers' and patients' experience. The new layout allows radiology work to be performed on either side of the table, while the movable wall stand has significantly improved manual handling for imaging trolley patients. Additionally, the automated positioning of the X-ray tube greatly supports the radiographers by easing the physical demands of their daily tasks.
The addition of a undersea mural on the main wall behind the wall stand, by our talented Senior Radiographer (RSO) Paul Ogbonyomi, has received so many positive comments and helps our paediatric patients by providing a distraction. We have included animals on the changing rooms doors to assist patients in returning to the correct cubicle, rather than labelling them 1 & 2, which has caused confusion over the years.
We are delighted with the new room and the process for installation and look forward to many years of working with Medray”.
