Thyroid Shield

Designed to provide maximum protection to the radiosensitive thyroid gland. To ensure proper positioning, a curved notch in the centre of the shield is placed at the top of the sternum. An adhesive on the back of the shield holds the shield firm as the patient breathes and swallows. Lateral bow ties are also attached to the interior flaps of the shield to protect patients with larger necks or larger thyroid glands that extend behind the clavicle or sternum. This shield, when used for the soft tissues of the neck, is cut to a thickness of 4 plys, allowing a 60% dose saving to the thyroid. Pack of 10’s.
